There is a possibility that Samsung’s next flagship may come equipped with this AI assistant

It is common practice for Google, OpenAI, or the company’s own technologies to be the focus of discussions on artificial intelligence assistants on smartphones; however, Samsung may choose to take an entirely different approach in the next year.

According to Bloomberg, which cited individuals who are aware with the situation, Samsung Electronics is apparently close to concluding a collaboration with Perplexity AI. This arrangement would result in the startup’s artificial intelligence-powered search features being installed on future Samsung devices made by Samsung.

AI Integration Will Be Included in the Galaxy S26 Lineup
Plans are included in the planned deal to make the search assistant offered by Perplexity the default choice for the future Galaxy S26 series, which is anticipated to be released in the beginning of 2026. Through this connection, Samsung would be able to include the functionality of Perplexity not just into its standalone application, but also into its native browser and maybe even its Bixby virtual assistant.

The specific details of the agreement are still being negotiated, but it has the potential to change the way in which Samsung distributes search and artificial intelligence capabilities throughout its product ecosystem.

Perplexity AI Receives an Investment of $500 Million
Along with the product integration, it is anticipated that Samsung will also take part in a fundraising round for Perplexity, which is seeking a value of $14 billion. The investment round is estimated to exceed $500 million. As a result, Samsung would become one of the major sponsors in the round, and the cooperation between the two businesses would be strengthened and reinforced.

Following a similar cooperation with Motorola, the alliance with Samsung is the most substantial mobile arrangement that Perplexity has ever entered into to this point. Additionally, it has been stated that the corporation is now in conversations with Apple about the possibility of integrating Siri; however, it is yet unknown how the agreement with Samsung would impact those negotiations.

Samsung is following a route that is comparable to that of Apple by forming a partnership with Perplexity. This involves expanding the range of AI partners beyond conventional tech giants such as Alphabet. It is quite possible that the impact of this transition will have an effect on the competitiveness in the future of mobile AI services.
